The German Abitur

The German Abitur can be compared to the French Baccalauréat but this is not exactly the same. First, in Germany, college and high school are gathered and this is called Gymnasium. It normally begin at 11 years old and end at 19 years old, so one year more than the Baccalauréat. The last years of these studies, the students have to choose their school subjects. They also have a continuous rating like the French college.

Treatment of waste

Most of Germans sort out their waste and Germany is a part of countries which sort out most their waste. The principle of their sort ou system is called Grüner Punkt and it consists of green point on packaging. When there is a green point it's necessary to sort out in the yellow trash. There are also brown, blue, green and gray trashs. They are respectively used for organic waste, paper or cardboard, glass, and all other waste in the gray trash.

Hobbies and sports

Sport is a great part of the Germany culture. The most famous sport in Germany is football. They win the World Cup 4 times including the last one in 2014. The other favorite sports in Germany are, from most to least popular:

-Ice hokey

-Basketball

-Handball

-Motorsport

In France, the favorite sport is football, then tennis and rugby. Few people practice ice hokey.
